Formed in 1870 - and variously known as the Whitburn Burgh band and Whitburn Miners Welfare - today's Whitburn Band is one of the top brass bands in the UK. Russell Gray conducts music by George Michael, Jelly Roll Morton and Richard Rodgers, amongst others.
