Are we hopelessly addicted to air travel?
With climate experts saying emissions need to be cut by 90% if air travel is to keep growing, Graham Stewart asks if we're capable of reducing our consumption.
The government's official climate advisors say we'll need to cut our greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2050 so the aviation sector can continue to grow. The alternative, according to the Climate Change Committee, is that the aviation industry cuts emissions from planes back to their 2005 level by 2050. But, with Britons flying more than any other nation on Earth, are we capable of reducing our consumption?
