Lesley Haw reports from the awards launch to hear some innovative thoughts from participants.
In the studio are former British Female Inventor of the Year, Tanya Ewing, who's successfully launched an energy monitor designed to cut utility bills for businesses; business angel John Waddell of Edinburgh-based Archangel Informal Investments; and Graham Johnston from the Intellectual Assets Centre, a Scottish government-backed advisory service.
Also on the programme: our business and economy editor Douglas Fraser catches up with the CEO of The Jumeirah Group, Guy Crawford, to find out if the recession has weakened his commitment to a new £125m 'six-star' hotel in Glasgow.
