In the Beechgrove Garden, Jim is waging war on the greenhouse pests that have arrested the development of the aubergines and peppers, but finds that bringing in a little natural balance can be the best weapon of all.

Lesley and Carole take a look at Carole's rocket trial to see which varieties have done well and how they fare taste-wise, from the super spicy to the sweet and mild. Lesley makes an easy potato and rocket soup from the crop.

Carole is also with Tom Morton from Wrap Scotland who has been developing a 'Credit Crunch' garden at Beechgrove on as tight a budget as possible. They review the remarkable progress of this cheap and cheerful garden, and harvest and try out some edible flowers, which they can enjoy looking at as well as eating.

Jim and team help out at The Royal Cornhill Hospital in Aberdeen, where gardening is used as therapy, and they create a wee haven for patients and staff to use and enjoy.

Lesley Watson takes a look at the Avant Garden competition winners. Avant Gardens is all about encouraging new garden design talent in Scotland, and the six winners of the competition have their gardens built for them at New Hopetoun Gardens. Lesley reviews the very impressive results.
