Steve Forbert plays an After Midnight session, plus the usual eclectic mix of new tracks featuring the best of Americana, alternative country, indie, world, nu-folk and blues.

Steve Forbert plays an After Midnight session this week and discusses his new album and favourite musical influences.

Steve started his career busking in Grand Central Station, then playing Folk City and opening for John Cale and Talking Heads at New York's legendary CBGBs.

He's best known for his 1980 signature song and Radio 2 favourite - Romeo's Tune. What's more, for over thirty years he has been acknowledged as one of America's finest, most idiosyncratic and talented singer-songwriters.

Special guests on his new album include backing vocalist Bekka Bramlett and legendary electric guitarist Reggie Young, who played on Son Of A Preacher Man, Slip Away, Suspicious Minds, In The Ghetto and many Willie Nelson favourites like The City of New Orleans.
