Episode 12 of 24

Jim and Carole spend time with the plotters of Heathryfold Allotments to hear their success story as well as seeing the many initiatives going on.

Heathryfold Allotments have gone from having almost no plots occupied to being full, with 68 allotment holders and a waiting list of a further 60 in the space of just a couple of years. This reflects a trend in attitude towards growing your own but more than that, the determination of an extraordinary group of people. The Heathryfold 'plotters' range from 20 year olds to 80 year olds and there is a real family feel to the place.

Jim and Carole spend time with the plotters of Heathryfold to hear their success story as well as seeing the many initiatives going on. The plotters are full of hints and tips for every gardener and keen to share their experience. Jim and Carole also give some advice on weed control, water conservation and community composting.

Meanwhile, Lesley and Carolyn have the run of the garden back at Beechgrove.
