Blink and Sam Crockatt Quartet at the Loop Festival

Jez Nelson presents concerts from saxophonist Sam Crockatt and his quartet, featuring leading British pianist Gwilym Simcock, plus trio Blink.

Jez Nelson presents two of London's fastest-rising talents in concert at the Loop festival. With saxophonist Sam Crockatt and his quartet, featuring college friend and leading British pianist Gwilym Simcock, plus trio Blink, whose debut album has received critical praise. Blending clean melodies with free interplay, Blink is co-led by bold young pianist Alcyona Mick and French saxophonist Robin Fincker, with Paul Clarvis completing the trio on drums.

The Loop festival was put together in honour of the London-based collective's fourth birthday in February 2009. It has a DIY approach to performing, promoting and recording music and, as a result, has become a breeding ground for innovative musicians in the city.
