The Investigation β€” Rich and Poor
Judith MacKay investigates wealth inequality and Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
Judith MacKay investigates the gap between rich and poor.
We know that wealth inequality has become wider under Labour (see research published by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation in 2007) and that social mobility has more or less ceased in the UK. The Prime Minister says he wants to change that. At last month's Labour Party conference, Gordon Brown talked of building an "upwardly mobile" Britain. So how might that be done and is it achievable as we head towards a possible recession? And, if we don't act, will this generation of young people be the first since the second world war to be worse off than their parents?
Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
