For the penultimate programme in the series, the whole Beechgrove team go 'doon the watter' to help put the finishing touches to a community garden on beautiful Bute. On the outskirts of Rothesay, a brand new joint campus school and college have taken on a plot of land to build into a productive eco-garden for the whole community to enjoy.
Jim, Carole, Lesley and Carolyn will also be visiting the glorious gardens and gardeners of Bute, gleaning hints and gardening tips from the locals as well as solving a few local gardening problems.
The Beechgrove community garden initiative aims to encourage communities to do something for help themselves with the aid of Beechgrove. There are over 160 gardens all over Scotland that have been created in this way since 1996.
