The Beechgrove team are on the road helping to put the finishing touches to a community garden in Cumbernauld.
The town's centre has been described as the 'carbuncle of Europe', but Cumbernauld is actually the most landscaped town in Europe with millions of trees planted in and around it since the 1960s. The community garden is intended to show Cumbernauld in a different, horticultural light.
Glencryan Special Needs School is the site for the new community garden and the ambitious plans include a massive turf ampitheatre, a woodland walk and a huge sensory garden.
Jim, Carole, Lesley and Carolyn will be in and around Cumbernauld helping out with the community garden, as well as visiting great gardens and gardeners in the area and solving a few Cumbernauld gardening problems.
The Beechgrove Community Garden Initiative has helped create over 160 gardens all over Scotland since 1996. Each garden is created by the community, for the community, with a little help from the Beechgrove team.
