Should schools use fingerprint technology?
Graham Stewart takes your calls on East Dunbartonshire's school fingerprints trial. Plus: Is going to the football too expensive?
Pupils in East Dunbartonshire will have their fingerprints taken as new technology is introduced into secondary schools in the area. In what's the biggest experiment of its kind in Scotland, the biometric scans will be used in the "cashless" school canteen and in the library. Should biometric fingerprinting be rolled out nationally, or is this a step too far towards a 'Big Brother' state? If you're a parent, how do you feel about your kids details being kept on a database like this? Would you trust the school with the data, or is it likely to fall into the wrong hands?
Plus: Is going to the football too expensive?
With the start of the football season, research suggests rising costs might be putting fans off going to the game. The accountants PKF have found in their annual survey of Scottish Premier League finance directors that ticket and merchandising sales are down. Is football no longer a working man's sport? Or are you happy to pay high prices if it helps your team buy the best players or, in many cases, simply helps keep the club afloat?
Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
