Twelve boys and girls live as 1940s war evacuees. The evacuees struggle with their manners, dining etiquette and elocution, as well as early morning wake-ups, chores and rationed food. But it's no ordinary day at Pradoe Hall, as pheasant shooting season arrives, one of the most important social events of the year. Our modern day evacuees discover hunting is a whole new world as they get to grips with handling a shotgun, and work as the beaters who flush out the pheasants for the Lord and his party to shoot.
