Belts get tighter for the Grundys.
Eddie would love to watch the football with Joe on Wednesday but it's his wedding anniversary so he's got to do something to please Clarrie.
Ruth's amused by Eddie's attempts to sell her a wreath made from Brookfield holly. She's sympathetic that rising feed prices have forced him to up the price of his turkeys but it's no consolation for Eddie when he learns that their beef is selling just as well as last year. Joe thinks there'll be a rush of orders at the last minute and Eddie agrees there's always hope - but if it doesn't happen the Grundys are the ones who'll suffer.
Kathy's got in a mess with the stock-taking and it's all too much when Nigel finds some unaccounted-for DVDs. Nigel insists that she goes home and sorts it out tomorrow with a clearer head.
But Kathy forgets to set the shop alarm so she has to go back. She finds Nigel in the stock cupboard and is relieved to learn he's sorted out the problem. Nigel knows Kathy's worked up about Thursday's hearing and tries to convince her that Taylor's a swine and he's not worth the worry.
