Kathy is haunted by the ghosts of her past.
Emma's given Calum the impression she's a bit of a free-spirited career girl but they're relaxed and comfortable in each other's company. When the conversation turns to children, Emma again makes no mention of George, saying she's no good with kids.
Nigel needs more sunshine if there's any chance of picking the Madeleine Angevine in a few weeks. He hopes Kathy will make a picnic for the harvesters.
DS Collins is investigating an alleged assault in Bournemouth and asks Nigel and Elizabeth about a man who goes by many names - none that they recognise. On seeing a photograph, the man in question is Owen King. Acknowledging that he worked for them as a chef until his sudden mysterious disappearance, they suggest DS Collins talks to Kathy.
Kathy's shocked when DS Collins mentions Owen's name but answers his questions without revealing what happened to her. She admits they met socially once or twice but denies knowing why he left so suddenly.
Kenton blabs on about Tony attempting to involve him with a fishing expedition for the kids before realising Kathy's in a state. She blames herself for not reporting Owen. Now he's made some other poor girl's life a nightmare and Kathy did nothing to stop him.
