Peek behind the facade of the Odeon Cinema in London’s Leicester Square as Geoffrey Wheeler seeks out traces of the variety theatre which once stood in its place - the Alhambra.

From the earliest days of the 20th century until its closure in the 1930s, the Alhambra was one of the capital’s premier Variety venues. But it fell foul of the rising popularity of cinema and radio and was forced to close.

Geoffrey rediscovers the Alhambra's fine legacy.
