A sponsored charity event, attempting to break the European record for reciting the digits of Pi, brings Daniel's story into the public eye and he is offered the chance to take part in a documentary about his extraordinary mental powers.

He also gets the opportunity to meet fellow savant, Kim Peek, who was the inspiration for the Raymond Babbitt character played by Dustin Hoffman in the film, Rain Man. It turns out to be one of the happiest days of Daniel's life.
