Tony sees things from Peggy's perspective.

Tony's taken Jack to the dentist, but Jack's confused and restless and wanders off when Tony's back is turned. Tony eventually finds him in the street thinking he's meeting an editor of the Borchester Echo who actually left years ago.

Helen's nervous about her first counselling session but later she tells Pat it went very well. Tony recounts his story about Jack. Helen feels sorry for her parents, having problems with elderly and young relatives all at once. They assure her that it comes with the territory, as she'll no doubt find out one day.

Ruth's worried the children might feel unsettled and left out at half term with all the changes going on, and wants the family to have at least one day together. David's non-committal. He thinks the kids will be fine. Later Ruth tells Usha about David's pattern of work all day then workshop all evening. Usha observes that it's hardly going to help them put things back together.

Later Usha tackles David about the time he's spending with the tractor but David says it's the first time in months he's felt any real kind of peace.
