The 2024 Countryfile Photographic Competition

Can you capture ’Natural Wonders'?

The 2024 Countryfile Photographic Competition is now open for entries. This year’s theme is ‘Natural Wonders’ and you don’t have to venture far to capture all those wild miracle moments. You may want to focus on the bigger picture capturing some our amazing natural landscapes – or the smaller creatures that live within it. Or maybe you’re keen on our wild flora swaying in the spring breeze; but wherever you are; the city, the countryside, farmland or valleys we want to see your interpretation of ‘Natural Wonders’.

As long as your photographs capture the essence of 'Natural Wonders’ then you’re in with a chance. The best twelve photographs will then make up the Countryfile Calendar for 2025. A minimum of £5 from the sale of each calendar will benefit Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Children in Need (charity number 802052 in England & Wales and SC039557 in Scotland).

John Craven will be chairing the judging panel and will be joined by Vick Hope and Charlotte Smith. Together they’ll choose their favourite 12 photographs before we let you decide which of them is the overall winner.

But first we need your photos!

How to enter the competition:

This year we are only accepting online entries and they need to be in landscape format. You can enter by uploading your digital photos and filling out the online entry form on our website. There’s a maximum of three photos per person which you need to submit separately. We can only accept photos in JPEG format and only up to a maximum size of 10mb. Please keep copies of your original files if they are bigger than this, as we may need them later on if you are successful. You can upload your photos here.

Entries will be accepted from 6pm on Sunday 30th June 2024 until 10am on Monday 22nd July 2024.

Please ensure you read the full Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice before entering.

The theme ‘Natural Wonders’ is open to the interpretation of the photographer. But entries should feature landscape photographs of the United Kingdom, or wild or farm animals, in a natural setting. Pictures of pets are not eligible for the competition - nor are zoo animals. Images of UK wildlife in captivity are also ineligible.

The competition will have one overall winner voted for by Countryfile viewers. Not only will their picture take pride of place on the cover of the calendar, they’ll also get a gift card to the value of £1,000, to spend on photographic equipment in outlets of their choice, either on-line or on the high street. The person who takes the judges’ favourite photo will get a gift card to the value of £500, which can also be spent at a number of outlets.

The competition isn’t open to professionals and, because we want something original, entries must not have won other national or international competitions. Each entrant can send in up to three photos, which must be taken in the UK. This year we can only accept JPEG files uploaded to our website.
