Throughout the year, we are on the look-out for your photos which say something about the current month's weather across the North East & Cumbria.

We'll show as many as possible during the weather on Look North and each and every shot is considered to be our picture of the month.

Twelve winning photographs are selected by guest judges and are published in a Look North Weather Calendar with all profits* donated to .

Sending us your photographs

Please include the following info:

• Your name and contact details.
• Information about the location, time and conditions when you took the picture.
• Feel free to reduce the file size for email purposes, but please inform us if you have a higher resolution version available.
• Email your weather pictures as jpeg attachments to: looknorthweather@bbc.co.uk

Paul Mooney shares his tips for sending in your weather pictures:

1. Make sure your photos are in landscape format (not portrait).
2. Include your name and contact details.
3. Tell us a bit of info about where and when you took the photo.
4. Email your photographs as a jpeg attachment if possible.
5. Be selective: send us your very best shot.

And finally... keep trying. If you’re not successful one month, try again the next month.
