High drama of death-defying ducklings' four-storey fall

A heart-stopping moment for onlookers as they watch ducklings leave their nest.

At this time of year ducklings are making their first tentative waddles away from the nest. It's an important moment and vital that the birds get to water as soon as possible so they can feed and increase their chances of survival.

However, not every duck chooses to nest in a handy riverside abode; one Glasgow mum has carefully selected a stylish des-res in the city’s Shawlands area. The fourth floor flat has a balcony which keeps the duck and her brood safe, but it's a long way down to the street below.

As footage on Landward reveals, the duck leads her babies from the flat to nearby White Cart Water. Onlookers watch in delight as one by one they make the drop safely, but one little duckling gives the crowd great cause for concern...
