Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

1. The competition is open to all residents of the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man aged 18 or over, except Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ or Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Group employees, their close relatives or anyone connected with the competition or the particular prize being offered. Proof of age, identity and eligibility may be required. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who breaches these rules.

How to enter

2. The competition will run on the 20th September 2024 on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Wales. Entry is via the station number 03700 100 110 (standard geographic charges from landlines and mobile apply).

3. During the Eleri Siôn Show, the presenter will announce that in approx. 10 minutes time the phone lines will be open for entry. At the point the lines open, the presenter will ask a trivia question. Listeners will have 15 minutes to call in and give their answer. Every caller who gets through with the correct answer to the question during the entry period will have their name, location and contact number taken. The winner will be selected using an independent randomised draw system and contacted by telephone live on- air. If the randomly selected entrant does not pick up the phone after 5 rings or the call goes to voicemail, that entrant’s turn will end and the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ will contact the next eligible randomly selected entrant from those who got the entry question correct. This will continue until the prize is won or no further airtime allows. Any prizes remaining to be won may be offered in new competitions in the future, if editorially appropriate.

4. You may only enter the competition once; any additional entries will be disqualified.

5. The phone number from which the phone entry is made in the registration process must be the entrant’s phone. The entrant must be entering on their own behalf. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who did not register using their own phone or on their own behalf. This may mean that another entrant from all the entries is chosen.

The Prize

6. There will be one winner. The Prize consist of:

  • 4 Tickets to Pobol y Cwm anniversary Tour.

Available dates are a choice between Saturday 12th October, Sunday 13th October, Thursday 17th October, Friday 18th October OR Saturday 19th October.

WHAT’S COVERED ON THE TOUR?

10-minute welcome, introduction and safety briefing. 20-minute visit to Studio 5.

An opportunity for people to see the sets, take lots of pictures and take a seat on the famous sofas. A quick glimpse at the costume room on route to a 20-minute visit to Studio 6.

This will be followed by a 25-minute look around the exterior set.

The content of the tour may be subject to change.

7. For the avoidance of doubt, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ shall not be responsible for any other fee, expense or cost. There is no cash alternative and the prize cannot be sold or transferred in any circumstances.

8. Where the prize includes tickets, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ will not be responsible for any failure by the ticket holders to gain entry or re-entry to the event due to the behaviour of the ticket holder or their failure to meet the admission requirements of the venue. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ will not be responsible for the winners not following instructions.

9. If the winners and/or their guest (if applicable) have any health or accessibility requirements, these need to be disclosed to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ prior to prize fulfilment. In order to fully experience the prize that includes experiences or ticketed events, there may be some security and Health & Safety requirements imposed by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, the promoter or the venue. These will need to be followed prior to those elements being experienced. The winner and their guest(s) (if applicable) must also comply with the health, safety and security policies at any venue associated with the prize.

10. Where required, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ will pass the winner’s details to the appropriate venue to arrange prize fulfilment.

General

11. Entrants agree to take part in any post-competition publicity, if required. The names of winners will be made public.

12. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ reserves the right to: (i) amend these terms and conditions; (ii) disqualify any entrant who breaches the rules, has acted fraudulently in any way or who has brought the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ into disrepute (in its sole discretion) and; (iii) cancel the competition, at any stage, if in its opinion it is deemed necessary or if circumstances arise outside its control; and (iv) impose any additional entry restrictions or requirements should the prize being offered require such restrictions or requirements (including but not limited to tickets for events with an age minimum or other entry requirements)..

13. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, their sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction, nor for any other problem with any server, system, network or service provider or otherwise which may result in any entry not being properly logged or not recorded.

14. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when registering.

15. To the extent permitted by law, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ will not be liable for any loss or damage (whether such damage or losses were foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise) including financial, reputational loss or disappointment.

16. The competition is run by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ. The applicable law is that of England and Wales.

If you appear on-air, this may include the programme being available online and/or on demand, and your contribution may be used again in a future broadcast.

We may use your on-air appearance (if applicable) for promotional purposes on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s social media sites.

What personal data will the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ collect and how will we use it?

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ will collect and process your personal data for the purposes of administering the telephony competition; keeping a record of winners for compliance and auditing purposes; to create broadcast content; and to provide the winner with their prize.

Personal data

Depending on the nature of the competition, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ may collect and process the following personal data about you:

  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Your age, or confirmation you are old enough to take part
  • A broadcast recording of your voice
  • Your opinions, answers to our questions and biographical information you may wish to share

We may also collect your email address or postal address if you are a winner so that we can send you your prize.

Who is the Data Controller?

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ is the “data controller” of your personal data. This means that the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ decides what your personal data is used for, and the ways in which it is processed. For the avoidance of doubt, your personal data will be collected and processed solely for the purposes set out in this privacy notice. As the data controller, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ has the responsibility to comply, and to demonstrate compliance with, data protection law.

Lawful basis for processing your personal data

The lawful basis on which the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ processesβ€―theβ€―personal data isβ€―the performance of its public task.β€―The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s role is to act in the public interest and to serve all audiences with content which informs,β€―educatesβ€―and entertains.

We also have a legal obligation to process the personal data of the winners to comply with relevant competition regulations.

Sharing your personal data

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ works with our approved third-party providers who help us to provide some of our services. These partners only use your personal data on behalf of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and not independently of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ. For telephony competitions we use a third-party telephony platform.

We may share personal data with a third party where required or permitted by law.

Retaining your personal data

Personal data stored on the telephone platform, such as contact telephone number and any call recordings will be kept for twelve (12) months, then deleted.

Other personal data from unsuccessful entrants will be retained until 19 October 2024.

We keep records of winners and runners-up for two (2) years for auditing and compliance purposes.

If you appear on a broadcast, the programme will be retained and archived in perpetuity by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.

Your personal data will be stored in the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA).

Your rights and more information

You have rights under data protection law:

  • You can request a copy of the personal data the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ stores about you.
  • You have the right to request that we rectify any inaccurate or incomplete personal data that we hold about you.
  • You have the right to ask for the personal data we collect about you to be deleted, however there are limitations and exceptions to this right which may entitle the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ to refuse your request.
  • In certain circumstances you have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data, or to object to the processing of your personal data.
  • You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal data to you or to another organisation, in certain circumstances.
