Campbeltown has a thriving music scene but hasn’t had many orchestra visits over the years. This trip was a chance for our professional musicians to share their music with local people.
Events took place across the town, and beyond…
In Campbeltown Town Hall we gave some very young families their first taste of music, performed for the Old Pals, and had a great community sing-song.
Local primary schools' pupils got to hear music in their own classrooms, as well as make their own music.
The entire 75-piece Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scottish Symphony Orchestra gave concerts for school children in the new Campbeltown Grammar School gym hall; and the project came to a glorious finale in a symphonic concert given to a packed audience in Victoria Hall.
With all this, along with pop-up concerts in local care homes, and art projects for young people inspired by our music, it was a great week.
