Proms Free Events
Every day of the Proms season you will find a free pre-concert event a stone’s throw away at Imperial College Union’s Beit Venues, offering opportunities to look deeper and learn more about the context, ideas and history behind some of the music at the Proms. The events range from talks, discussions and readings to film screenings and live recordings of favourite radio programmes. In addition, Proms Learning run a whole programme of free participatory activities for all ages.
Pre-concert events are free of charge and unticketed (seating is unreserved), with the exception of selected recordings of radio programmes and some Learning events, as detailed in the concert listings.

Proms Plus Talks, Films and Readings
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 3 presenters and music and culture experts introduce the music of the evening’s Prom and explore the themes of the season.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Shows
Be in the audience for the recording of a radio programme, starting on the First Night of the Proms with a live edition of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 3’s In Tune. Tom Service presents a special edition of The Listening Service on 28 July and Ian McMillan will host a special edition of Radio 3’s The Verb on 6 September. For the first time, the Proms hosts a special showcase of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Music Introducing artists on Tuesday 3 September.. If you’re an artist and would like to get your music heard for opportunities across Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio and our festival stages, don’t forget to upload your music to
Proms Family Workshops & Proms Family Orchestra & Chorus
Proms Family workshops offer family-friendly introductions to the music of that day's Prom (for children aged 7 and over). Family Orchestra & Chorus sessions are opportunities to make music with a full orchestra and choir led by professional musicians.
Proms Poetry Competition
The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Proms partners with the Poetry Society once more for the Proms Poetry Competition: a linked free event will see winners from each category (12- to 18-year-olds, and 19-plus) invited to read their poems on stage at Imperial College Union (12 September).
