For those of you going - or if you who were looking forward to hearing his set or watching it on the Red Button - we found out earlier that he's had to pull out due to illness.

What this means is that will now top the bill on the Concourse; Teleman will headline Hall 2 and we're delighted to say that local hero, Nadine Shah, will be joining us as one of Sunday night's opening acts at the 6 Music Festival.

About the Festival

Following the success of last year's inaugural Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 6 Music Festival at The Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, we're going to do it all again, bigger and better, for 2015.

This year we're heading to Newcastle upon Tyne and featuring an ever-growing bill of over 50 bands and artists, with three days of live music and conversation, reflecting the spirit of 6 Music.

These will take place across several venues, both day and night.

6 Music Festival by Night consists of Friday night at the O2 Academy Newcastle and Saturday and Sunday night at the Sage, Gateshead.

With over 40 artists across six stages over three nights, the events bring together an impressive line-up of established acts and emerging artists who represent the very best alternative music of the moment.

Additionally there will be loads of events in venues in The Ouseburn and Stephenson Quarter areas of the city, on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February from 11am-6pm.

Mary Anne Hobbs will be hosting , happening after hours on Saturday 21 February and featuring Jamie xx, Four Tet and Gilles Peterson.
