Additional information can be found in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Privacy Policy Where there is inconsistency between those documents and this notice, this notice shall prevail.

What will we collect and how we use it?

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Studios will collect and process the personal information that you have provided to us in order to share your planting efforts.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Studios uses reCAPTCHA to protect Countryfile’s online system. reCAPTCHA helps us prevent automated access to Countryfile’s online system by computer programmes or “bots”, by collecting information from your browser or device, such as the cookies Google has placed over the last 6 months, the number of mouse clicks you have made on our web page (or screen touches on a touch screen device) and what language you have selected. Google may use the information they collect for their own additional purposes, which are described here, along with how you can control what Google does with your personal information. For more information on personal information captured by Google please refer to the reCAPTCHA privacy notice.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Studios is the “data controller” of this information. This means that Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Studios decides what your personal information is used for, and the ways in which it is processed.

We rely on our legitimate interests of running interactive programmes such as this and your consent to participate as our lawful bases for processing your personal data – providing interesting and engaging content to those that participate and to the wider audience consuming the content. We protect your information in many different ways. These include staff training, investing in technology and following strict handling and storing procedures.

Retaining your personal information

Personal data will be kept for two years on the system, if it is used in the programme it may be stored for up to 7 years further.

Sharing your personal information

Apart from your postcode, personal information won’t be shared with any other parties or used for any purposes than those of the Countryfile Plant Britain project. Outside company, Joi Polloi, will process postcodes to populate the map with planting.
