Speech given at Guardian Changing Media Summit

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Director of Future Media & Technology Erik Huggers today (Thursday 18 March 2010) presented his vision to put a focused Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Online at the heart of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's digital future, to the Guardian Changing Media Summit.

With broadband penetration expected to grow in coming years, Huggers explained how changing audience demands are establishing the internet as the third platform: making the internet as important as TV and Radio in delivering the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's public service mission.

Huggers outlined how Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Online will be transformed from a collection of websites supporting broadcast output to a coherent single service that will deliver all the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's public services to audiences across a wide range of internet-connected digital platforms and devices – including mobiles and internet-connected TVs.
