Just A Minute comes to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two Daytime in 2012

Paul Merton and Nicholas Parsons

In 2012, one of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's longest running Radio Comedy series, Just A Minute, will turn 45.

To celebrate over four and a half decades of avoiding "Repetition, Hesitation and Deviation", Just A Minute will deviate its way to television on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two Daytime for 10 very special episodes.

Nicholas Parsons will chair the show just as he did on its very first broadcast back in 1967. Sticking faithfully to the well loved radio format, each episode will see a selection of comics and well known performers attempt to talk for one minute on a given subject.

Nicholas Parsons says: "After 45 years of chairing Just A Minute on the radio, I am very excited to be hosting these special celebratory episodes for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two. I'm sure they will be popular with the show's many fans and hopefully with a few new ones as well."

Viewers can expect to see a selection of the show's stalwarts, including Paul Merton, as well as some new players as they attempt to catch each other out.

Liam Keelan, Controller of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Daytime, who commissioned the series, says: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be bringing this much-loved radio classic to screens in celebration of its 45th birthday. I know it's something that daytime viewers and fans of the radio series will love to see."

Derek McLean, Entertainment Creative Director, says: "Just A Minute was a huge success during Comic Relief's 24 Hour Panel People marathon, where David Walliams enjoyed a baptism of fire at the hands of Nicholas and the Just A Minute regulars. With the 45th anniversary looming, we just couldn't resist the chance to treat TV viewers to another dose of this legendary comedy institution."

The series will be recorded at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Television Centre in November to be stripped across two weeks early next year.

The 10x30-minute series will be made by In-house Entertainment, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Vision Productions, and will be overseen by Creative Director, Derek McLean and produced by Andy Brereton and Jamie Ormerod. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Executive Producer for Daytime is Jo Street.
