New Tricks commissioned for another two series on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One

Following its triumphant return to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One, Wall to Wall's hit drama New Tricks has been commissioned for another two series, for broadcast in 2012 and 2013.

With ratings peaking at an impressive 9.7 million, 36% share, the current run of New Tricks has comprehensively dominated its slot and has at times been the most watched programme of the week. New Tricks also enjoys huge international success, selling around the world.

The series, following an unconventional bunch of ex-coppers brought out of retirement to work on unsolved and open cases, sees old school policing clash with today's political correctness. However, they may be eccentric, bend the rules, follow their hunches and ignore procedure, but they get results.

Ben Stephenson, Controller, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Drama Commissioning, says: "New Tricks continues to grow and is a huge favourite with the audience making it the highest rating drama on TV so far this year. Amanda, Dennis, Alun and James are a dream team that Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One viewers have taken to their hearts and I'm thrilled the show will be back on our screens for two more years."

Richard Burrell, Executive Producer for Wall to Wall, says: "The show's ability to be warm and humorous and tackle darker issues simultaneously makes it distinctive from other crime dramas. The audience's response to the current series of New Tricks has been phenomenal and I'm delighted we are able to repay their loyalty with another two brand new 10-part series."

Filming on the next series will begin later this year on location in and around London.

New Tricks is made by Wall to Wall Television (part of Shed Media Group), executive produced by Richard Burrell for Wall to Wall and Polly Hill for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One. New Tricks was recommissioned by Danny Cohen, Controller, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One and Ben Stephenson, Controller Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Drama Commissioning.
