Junior Doctors: Your Life In Their Hands re-commissioned for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Three

The highly acclaimed series Junior Doctors: Your Life In Their Hands has been re-commissioned for a second series for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Three. It became the channel's highest-rating factual entertainment programme when it debuted with an audience of 1.2 million earlier this year, rising to 1.5 million mid-run, adding to the channel's success story of being the most watched digital channel for the hours in which it broadcasts.

The first series charted the progress of seven recently qualified junior doctors as they hit the wards of Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary and the Newcastle General Hospital. Viewers saw the twenty-somethings juggle life as young adults with their new-found responsibilities across some of the hospitals' busiest departments.

Zai Bennett, Controller of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Three, said: "Junior Doctors has been one of the stand-out original programmes on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Three this year. I'm delighted that we are bringing it back with a new cast of young doctors in a new location early next year."

Karl Warner, Executive Editor for Entertainment Commissioning, said: "It's clear that the drama and excitement of young doctors' lives has connected with our audience. The first series witnessed the very real challenges they face on a daily basis. We'll follow the struggles of a new cast of junior doctors, capturing their extraordinary commitment in a new hospital location."

The new series was commissioned by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Three controller Zai Bennett and Karl Warner, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Executive Editor for Entertainment Commissioning. The 6x60-minute series is a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Vision Production and will be executive produced by Rachel Arnold.
