George Layton joins the cast of EastEnders

George Layton joins the cast of EastEnders as Norman this summer.

Janine is in for a surprise when an unexpected guest turns up at Lydia's funeral. Lydia's estranged son is back in Walford for the funeral but with the little matter of a will to contest, Norman decides to stick around.

Sparks fly when he bumps into an old face from another lifetime ... Pat Evans.

Hapless, clumsy and unlucky in life, Norman is a lonely, good-hearted man with a soft spot for Pat ... is it time for him to get his girl?

George Layton is best known for his roles in Doctor At Large and Doctor In Charge as well as Minder, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ drama Sunburn, It Ain't Half Hot, Mum and Doctor In The House.

George says: "I am thrilled to be joining such a wonderful cast and crew, Norman is a great part and I'm excited to play him. I can't wait to get stuck into life in Albert Square – and hopefully the odd tipple or three in the Queen Vic!"
