Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two welcomes back Mock The Week

Mock The Week

Topical panel show Mock The Week, hosted by Dara O' Briain, returns to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two next month.

Summer fun and the hit show are now as natural a combination as strawberries and cream, spearmints and rhinos, and Cameron and Clegg, and although a High Court super injunction forbids revealing exact details of the series line-ups, viewers are reassured they can expect the usual magical mix of old favourites, new stars and some other people.

Names touted on Twitter include Chris Addison, Micky Flanagan, Ed Byrne, Greg Davies, Milton Jones, Ava Vidal, Stewart Francis and Zoe Lyons.

Beginning on Thursday 9 June, the show's tenth outing will be made up of six episodes in June and July and will be followed by another six in September and October as well as the now traditional Christmas special.

Show creator Dan Patterson enthused: "What a year 2011 has been! We've had a referendum, a Royal Wedding and the discovery of the world's most wanted man. Unfortunately, that's all gone now, but I'm sure we'll get just as much mileage out of the Turkish elections, the England v Sri Lanka Test Series and the effect of inflation on utility bills. We can't wait to get started."

Mock The Week was created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson, the creative force behind the iconic improvisation-based show Whose Line Is It Anyway? which ran for ten years on British TV before successfully transferring to the United States.

Suzanne Gilfillan is the executive editor for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ. It is produced for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ by Angst Productions.
