The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ today announces that Miriam O'Reilly is to join former detective Rav Wilding as a presenter for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Daytime's Crimewatch Roadshow.
Coming live from around the UK, Crimewatch Roadshow reports on the everyday crimes that can affect us.
Rav will host the programme from the studio, whilst Miriam will be fronting live from streets across the UK.
Liam Keelan, Controller of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Daytime, who commissioned the series says: "I'm delighted to welcome Miriam to the team. Crimewatch Roadshow has gone from strength to strength over the last two years, and I know that Miriam's proven experience as a journalist will only strengthen the series."
Miriam O'Reilly says: "I'm delighted to be working on a programme that can really make a difference. Last year's series led to many criminals being arrested. It's a chance for me to use my journalistic skills and I'm really looking forward to getting back to the buzz of live TV."
Every week, Crimewatch Roadshow features crimes from different parts of the country that can affect us all. Miriam will be on the road visiting areas including Merseyside, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, Gwent, Manchester and Nottinghamshire.
Back in the studio in Cardiff, Rav will feature stories from around the UK as well as calling on viewers to help identify criminals caught on camera on CCTV footage.
Over four weeks of transmission we will also be asking the public to help find around 80 "wanted faces" – people the police want to track down.
Last year the programme featured a broad range of crimes including scams and cons, burglaries, arson, and muggings. The series covers the kind of everyday crime that dominates frontline policing but rarely features on the news. We also report on some of the initiatives police are taking across the country to deal with some of the commonest crimes.
As well as Miriam and Rav, there will be local reporters from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ teams across the country reporting on stories in their area.
Series three of Crimewatch Roadshow is due to transmit on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Daytime from June 6 June 2011, every Monday to Friday at 9.15am.
It is being executive produced by Christina Macaulay at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales. Gerard Melling is the executive producer for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Daytime.
