The station will showcase many of its key programmes in front of live audiences in the City and will be the place to get the build up atmosphere and key interviews around the National.

You can be part of the audience at the broadcasts over the two days. Free tickets are available at bbc.co.uk/5live. And the station will launch a search to find Liverpool's next budding Alan Green or John Motson, as would-be commentators get the chance to be trained in the craft by Radio 5 Live's football commentary team at the station's broadcast base at John Moores University from 10am on Friday 9 April.

As well as full commentary of the big race itself the station will also broadcast most of its core programmes based at the Art and Design Academy Liverpool John Moores University in Duckinfield Street next to the City's Metropolitan Cathedral.

Radio 5 live Commissioning Editor Jonathan Wall said: "The Grand National is always a really special moment for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sport and this year we've brought large parts of Radio 5 Live to Liverpool to really experience the magic of the occasion. We'll also be keeping a close eye on any talented commentators we can unearth at John Moores."

Programmes will feature key broadcasts from Richard Bacon, Colin Murray and Mark Pougatch offering listeners the chance to see the station in action at close hand. You can also try your hand at football commentary or be the star of the 5 Live website, taking home your own poster as well as activities for children over the two days.

There is also an opportunity to meet the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Racing team, including Clare Balding, Cornelius Lysaght, Luke Harvey and John Hunt on Thursday 8 April.
