Eastender Cheryl Fergison and The Grumpy Old Women, Lesley Joseph, Susie Blake, Linda Robson and Jenny Eclair, have strutted their stuff straight into next Saturday's final of Let's Dance For Sport Relief, following their show-stopping performances in the third and last heat of the series on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One.
Presenters Claudia Winkleman and Steve Jones announced that the viewers had chosen Cheryl Fergison as their favourite, the fifth act to win a place in the final on Saturday 13 March, after she performed an exceptional homage to Ice Ice Baby.
An astonished Cheryl Fergison said: "It's brilliant. Thank you everyone who's voted. All these guys [her backing dancers], they are just fantastic. We've had a ball. It's been brilliant!"
Runners up Grumpy Old Women and The Footballers then faced the three panellists who decided which act would win the sixth and last place in the final after their performances of Poker Face and Men In Black respectively. Panellist Jo Brand voted for The Grumpy Old Women. Next up, Vic Reeves also gave his vote to The Grumpy Old Women – automatically awarding them the last place in the final.
Following Cheryl's performance Jo Brand said: "It was nice to see a bit of hip-hop as opposed to hip replacement in our house. Well done. It was bang on the money. It was fantastic! I am a hip-hop artist as you probably know. My hip-hop name is Big Smalls. It was brilliant. Fantastic. Loved it!"
Vic Reeves followed with: "It was fantastic! I love Cheryl. I've got posters of Cheryl all over my bedroom. A nice use of the Double Plum Roll and the American Chutney Dash. I enjoyed that one!"
Denise Van Outen said: "And The Caterpillar (dance move) was absolutely fantastic. I think you've raised the bar tonight. It was very good."
Following a rather energetic performance of Poker Face, Grumpy Old Woman, Jenny Eclair, said: "I'm not sure if it’s possible for women to have hernias, but I think I may have just had one. I'm spitting bits of wig and I went horribly wrong. We went a bit gaga ladies there and forgot it halfway through."
Viewers' favourite Cheryl Fergison closed the show with an encore of her hilarious tribute to Ice Ice Baby.
Tonight's show was the third of three heats and saw performances from Stephen K Amos (Rhythm Of Life, Sammy Davis Jr), Cheryl Fergison (Ice Ice Baby, Vanilla Ice), Sally Rogers & Chris Simmons (Hips Don't Lie, Shakira / Wyclef Jean), Jason Cundy & Peter Shilton (Men In Black, Will Smith), Felix Dexter, Lucy Montgomery & Rhys Thomas (Rasputin, Boney M) and Lesley Joseph, Susie Blake, Linda Robson & Jenny Eclair (Poker Face, Lady Gaga).
There were also performances from the cast of Chicago and Justin Bieber.
Next week, the six celebrity finalists Rufus Hound (Fight For This Love), Katy Brand (Single Ladies), Kate Garraway and Richard Arnold (Born To Hand Jive), Debra Stephenson (Smooth Criminal), Cheryl Fergison (Ice Ice Baby) and The Grumpy Old Women (Poker Face) will take to the dance-floor for their chance to wow the viewers in one almighty dance off. Only one will be crowned the Let's Dance For Comic Relief Champion on Saturday 13 March on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One, 7.00pm.
