The search is on for 100 couples looking to renew their commitment to one another in a special Valentine's Day event at Spinningfields in Manchester.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Manchester is seeking married people from across Greater Manchester – of any faith, background, age or gender – to come forward and celebrate their love in a mass public show of affection.
The event will be a non-religious celebration in which couples can renew their marriage vows to each other.
It will be hosted by ex-Coronation Street favourite Sally Lindsay, who played Shelley in the series.
At the same time the station wants to collect some romantic and fun stories of how people met, their wedding day memories, and life as a married couple.
The event on Sunday 14 February 2010 will be the culmination of a week-long series of love-themed programmes on Radio Manchester and will be held in the Armani building at Spinningfields in Manchester City Centre.
Radio Manchester's Editor John Ryan says: "We're hoping people from Greater Manchester will come out and celebrate their love with us and have fun at the same time. A registrar will conduct a ceremony during which they can renew their wedding vows so it's the ultimate romantic gesture – publicly declaring their love for one another."
Anyone interested in taking part should contact Lucy Taylor at Radio Manchester on 0161 244 4295 or email lucy.taylor@bbc.co.uk.
