Award wins for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Television

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Television celebrates a raft of awards today, handed out at the International Emmys and the RTS Craft and Design Awards.

Jana Bennett, Head of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Television, said: "I'm delighted for all those involved in the productions of these programmes as the awards show the breadth of our creative ambition – across tv and online."

Winners at the 37th International Emmy Awards include:

Julie Walters, best actress for her role as Dr Anne Turner in Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One's A Short Stay In Switzerland.

Ben Whishaw, best actor for his role as Ben Coulter in Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One's five-part drama, Criminal Justice.

Dustbin Baby – a co-commission between CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One. Adapted by Helen Blakeman from the novel by Jacqueline Wilson and starring Juliet Stevenson, David Haig and Dakota Blue Richards. The show was made by Kindle Entertainment;Julia Ouston (producer); Juliet May (director); exec producers Anne Brogan, Melanie Stokes and Sue Nott for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.

At the RTS Craft and Design Awards, CBeebies became the first childrens channel to be recognised by the RTS jury for its Design and Craft Innovation Award.

In handing out the award, the jury said: "CBeebies is a cross-platform multi-genre children's brand which reaches on average, half of its target audience (the under sixes) each week. It is brimming with originality, creativity and talent – always with a relentless focus on delighting its young audiences. Its website is an integral part of CBeebies with its TV production and online teams working together to create innovative game play and immersive web experiences."

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ also won many other awards for programmes including Being Human, Wallander, The Wrong Door and Psychoville to name a few.
