Jugglers, jesters and clowns are just some of the attractions at this year's Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Children in Need event in the North East of England, which will take place on Friday 20 November from 6.00 to 10.00pm at Hartlepool Maritime Experience, home of HMS Trincomalee.
The event will be broadcast live on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One North East during several special segments throughout the evening and will be hosted by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Tees' mid-morning presenter, Diane Youdale, and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Look North's Jeff Brown and Trai Anfield.
Hartlepool's Maritime Experience will be open for free entry during the broadcast and it is hoped visitors will join in the fun with fancy dress, and take part in the special fundraising events happening around HMS Trincomalee.
Throughout the night, local Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ presenters will meet local fundraisers, both groups and individuals, to hear how they have Done Something Different to raise money for this year's appeal.
There will also be several features showing where the money raised last year has been spent in the region.
Andy Cooper, Look North Editor, says: "We want people to come along on the night and raise lots of money for the good causes that we support."
Councillor Victor Tumilty, Hartlepool Council's Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, says: "I'm delighted that the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ has chosen the town to host this year's appeal.
"Hartlepool people are well-known for lending a hand to help others in need, so I'm sure we'll give Pudsey Bear and his friends a tremendous welcome."
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Tees will also be giving the public the chance to try their hand at presenting the weather in a family-friendly weather workshop. You can also get your face painted like Pudsey, or make yourself a Pudsey hand-puppet!
The evening will end with a spectacular fireworks demonstration at 10.00pm.
