It's "game on" for Radio 1, 1Xtra and Asian Network

It's "game on" for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 1 and 1Xtra from Monday 26 October, as the stations take part in a week of gaming-themed content.

As well as Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJs immersing themselves in the world of gaming for Get Your Game On week, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Asian Network will also be getting in on the action.

Gaming activity across the week includes:

Chris Moyles and the breakfast team start the week (Monday, 6.30-10am) by launching Radio 1's exclusive online game, Fastest Time Wins (FTW).

On Tuesday (1.00-4.00pm), lunchtime presenter Greg James is joined by gaming expert Alex Sim-Wise to look at the latest games and gadgets. Early breakfast DJ Dev is set to check out some of the latest games on the market and he'll be reporting into Greg's show from the Golden Joystick Awards on Friday 30 October.

Fearne Cotton starts her own Guitar Hero super group this week (weekdays, 10am-12.45pm) covering the Bon Jovi classic Living On A Prayer ahead of the band's performance in the Live Lounge (3 November). Fearne also takes on Snow Patrol in Radio 1's FTW game.

Scott Mills (weekdays, 4.00-7.00pm) "get's his game on" with some elderly opponents all week, as he helps them get to grips with modern video gaming.

On Saturday 31 October Edith Bowman kicks off the weekend (7.00-10.00am) by challenging her mum in the music game Rockband. Then, at 10.00am Vernon Kay tries his hand at FTW, a warm up before he goes head to head with Radio 1 listeners after the show playing Call Of Duty online.

At 1.00pm on Saturday, Jo Whiley is joined by computer games expert Johnny Minkley with Rampage providing hourly updates on Radio 1 and 1Xtra from the Eurogamer event taking place in London.

What's on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 1Xtra

Go to Radio 1Xtra from Monday 26 October (7.00-10.00am) and wake up with Trevor Nelson & Gemma introducing listeners to the world of gaming with their essential gaming guide for novices.

From 10.00am-1.00pm (Monday–Friday) Rampage will be joined by guests to play the biggest new gaming titles live during the show, and reviewing them for the Get Your Game On Blog.

1Xtra DJs will also be set the challenge of collaborating on a track using Beaterator the new game by Timbaland. The track will grow throughout the week and it will be played out in full on Rampage's show on Friday. The finished track will also be available to download at bbc.co.uk/1xtra.

What's on Asian Network

Asian Network DJs Kayper, Panjabi Hit Squad and Mic Check go head-to-head across the week playing Street Fighter, DJ Hero and Pro Evo on-air, and DJ Limelight is set to mix the best big gaming tunes on Saturday night.

Throughout the week DJs and guests from Radio 1, 1Xtra, Switch and Asian Network take on the challenge of playing Radio1's FTW.
