Asian Network to host London Mela

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Asian Network is heading to London this weekend to host the UK's leading Asian festival – the London Mela.

Presenters Adil Ray, Jas Rao, Noreen and Murtz will be fronting the event at Gunnersbury Park in Ealing on Sunday 16 August, and they'll be introducing some of the biggest names in British Asian music including Navin Kundra, Des-C and Amar.

In addition, former favourite boy band B21 will be performing two exclusive tracks from their long awaited album. This year's international line-up boasts Canadian-born Roach Killa and Denmark-based Outlandish.

EastEnders star Preeya Kalidas will be bringing some glamour to the event, as she joins Adil Ray on stage to welcome the crowds. The actress, who plays Amira Shah, will then chat to Murtz live on the Asian Network about her life and her new role in Albert Square.

The Asian Network's Mix Tent features Panjabi Hit Squad; DJ Kayper Sonny Ji; Ameet Chana; Nerm; Dipps; Kan D Man; and Limelight who will be mixing up the freshest Desi beats, hip-hop, Bhangra and drum 'n' bass, showcasing the station's commitment to new music.

Live coverage of all the action from Gunnersbury Park will be broadcast on the Asian Network from 2pm and, for the first time this year, the station is hosting a live web cast.

Live coverage can be accessed online at bb.co.uk/asiannetwork and via DAB digital radio and digital TV.
