Bring your toys to play – Chris and Pui are back on CBeebies with their new show Show Me Show Me

Children's favourites Chris Jarvis and Pui Fan Lee are coming back to CBeebies' screens this summer as the hosts of their own special new show, Show Me Show Me, which is due on air every day, starting in July.

As main channel presenters of CBeebies, Chris and Pui formed an inimitable double act, loved by children and their parents and carers alike. After seven years fronting Discover And Do and The Bedtime Hour, the duo put their heads together to start developing a new show and, under the creative direction of Something Special producer Allan Johnston, Show Me Show Me was born.

Chris and Pui's new home is in a quirky playroom at the top of a 10-storey tower block. Enter the lift, press the button, count the floors from one to ten and begin a magical, musical journey to the top floor where Chris and Pui welcome viewers to their playroom in the sky – a room alive with vibrant colours and amazing textural decor – including a special green tree in the middle of the room, twinkling fairy lights, tunnels in the walls, a gigantic teacup to work on, a special place for stories and lots and lots of interesting things! Everywhere is a place to start a journey – and who knows who will be next to arrive in the lift?

Come and play! With their toy friends – Mo Mo Bot, Stuffy, Teddington, Toddler Tom and Miss Mouse – Chris and Pui will play and explore two different themes each show through storytelling, songs, nursery rhymes and lots of creative activities.

Chris Jarvis said: "We are really thrilled to have our own show on CBeebies. Pui and I started writing together some time ago on CBeebies when we hit on the idea for Show Me Show Me.

"We really want children at home to be able to join in the fun, so everything we do is about interacting with our young viewers. When we play with our toys, we hope that they'll find their favourite toys and bring them to sit with them and join in with whatever we’re doing."

Pui Fan Lee added: "We want to encourage imaginative play with our viewers and to find the adventure in everyday objects. Show Me Show Me is about exploring and investigating the world around us and we hope that our playroom is a fun and magical pace to do that."

Michael Carrington, Controller, CBeebies, said: "This is Chris and Pui doing what they do best – connecting with children at home and encouraging them to join in and learn new things whilst playing. Show Me Show Me is really intimate and it feels very organic. I hope that children at home will almost feel as though Chris and Pui have come specially to play with them. It's very exciting to have them back at the heart of the CBeebies schedule."

The show is produced by Allan Johnson (Something Special) and the executive producer is Adrian Mills.

Show Me Show Me is a CBeebies production which will feature as part of the Discover And Do zone and is created for two to four year olds. There are currently 40 episodes in production.

Notes to Editors

CBeebies remains the most watched and loved channel for the under sixes. With almost half of the target audience tuning in each week (parents and carers with children aged 0-3 and 4-6 year olds in digital homes) it reaches well over double (almost three times) the audience of its pre-school competitors.

CBeebies website regularly reaches almost a million weekly users and reached more than one million unique users in the UK during the first week of February 2009, a record for the site.
