Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales has announced that Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sports presenter Gabby Logan will host a brand new entertainment panel show based around the forthcoming Six Nations tournament.
The new show – called High Tackle – is being made by Presentable Ltd for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales and will be broadcast in the run up to each of Wales' games against the home nations.
In the show, a combination of well-known comedians, celebrities and sports stars will form two competing teams – a Wales team who will take on a team of challengers representing the visiting nations of England, Ireland and Scotland.
The Wales team for the first High Tackle (Friday 6 February 2009) includes former Wales captain, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ rugby commentator and pundit Eddie Butler as team captain plus award-winning Welsh comedian and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Wales presenter Rhod Gilbert.
The High Tackle Scotland team includes former Scotland and Lions captain Gavin Hastings as team captain plus The One Show's Hardeep Singh Kohli.
As presenter, former Welsh gymnastics international Gabby will be in charge of the questions and will be tasked with keeping order between the two sides in what promises to be a well-fought battle of wits.
"I'm thrilled to be involved in High Tackle," says Gabby.
"We know the appetite for anything rugby related in Wales is massive and I'm sure the fans will enjoy the lively banter from the panellists and team captains in the show. It should be a great way for the nation to kick-back and get in the right mood for a weekend of top international rugby action."
Gabby Logan is presenter of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Inside Sport series, hosts her own Sunday morning show on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 5 Live and is also a key member of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TV Six Nations on-screen presentation team.
"A rugby entertainment panel show for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales during the Six Nations has to be a must for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales and for our audiences," said Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales Commissioning Executive Arts, Ceri Sherlock.
"And who better to keep the teams in order than the delightful and informed Gabby Logan? It's going to be terrific and definitely part of the pre-match ritual for fans and patriots alike."
The first in the High Tackle series will be broadcast on Friday 6 February on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Wales.
