Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Daytime announces new commissioning executive based in Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scotland

Controller of Daytime, Liam Keelan, today announces the appointment of Jo Street, a new commissioning executive based in Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scotland's new headquarters at Pacific Quay in Glasgow.

Μύ

Following on from Director of Vision Jana Bennett's announcement last month that – under the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Network Supply strategy – over 17% of network programme spend will be in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland by 2016, with 12% by 2012, this is the first in a number of new commissioning executive roles to be based in the nations.

Μύ

Jo's appointment is the first of three new posts based in Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scotland, with Knowledge and Entertainment commissioning roles to follow in the next few months.

Μύ

Around 9% of all the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's network TV programmes are due to be made in Scotland by 2016.

Μύ

This new approach in the market demonstrates the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's commitment to changing the nature of programme supply so that it better reflects the diversity of creative talent around the UK and connects with the audiences it serves.

Μύ

Liam Keelan says: "I am delighted to have Jo joining our Daytime team based in Scotland, she has a fantastic knowledge of the Daytime audience and her CV speaks for itself.

Μύ

"Her role will provide easier access to commissioning for in-house and independent programme makers out of London, and will facilitate a collaborative approach to the development of ideas."

Μύ

Jo Street joins Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Daytime with a wealth of experience in high profile television productions, and amongst her responsibilities will be the Weakest Link when it moves to Scotland.

Μύ

She will look after both in-house and independent daytime commissions in Scotland and Northern Ireland and will report to the Controller of Daytime and Head of Programmes in the nation.

Μύ

Jo began her television career in Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Daytime working on Countryfile and Animal Sanctuary, and the Weakest Link, as first assistant producer, producer and then became series producer of the hit quiz show hosted by Anne Robinson.

Μύ

For Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Entertainment she worked on a range of high profile Saturday night shows including Come And Have A Go., Hard Spell, Star Spell and National Lottery: This Time Tomorrow.

Μύ

Most recently, Jo has been based in Glasgow as executive producer of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scotland's Children In Need.
