1Xtra announces Notting Hill and Leeds Carnival coverage

1Xtra from the Â鶹ԼÅÄ today announced its broadcast schedule for the Notting Hill and Leeds Carnivals on Bank Holiday, Monday 25 August 2008.

1Xtra Breakfast presenters Trevor Nelson and Zena will be leading the broadcast, joined by Seani B and Ace and Vis in Notting Hill, with Alex Jordan reporting all the action from Leeds Carnival.

Part of this mammoth coverage will be simulcast on Â鶹ԼÅÄÌýRadioÌý1 between 1 and 4pm on Monday.

1Xtra will also be hosting its annual Carnival After Party at a secret London location, with performances from US R&B stars Ray J and Lloyd, singer-songwriter Jazmine Sullivan, UK singer Donae'O and dancehall artist Busy Signal.

1Xtra's Notting Hill and Leeds Carnival broadcast kicks off at 1pm on Monday 25 August.

1Xtra will treat listeners to over 12 hours of special broadcasting throughout the day, including a two-hour set from the Rampage sound system in Notting Hill. Ìý
Trevor and Zena will anchor the broadcast from a central location in Notting Hill, with Seani B reporting from the 1Xtra float.
Ìý
Ace and Vis will also be joining the revellers on the streets of Notting Hill, whilst Alex Jordan will keep up with the carnival celebrations in Potternewton Park, Leeds.

After Carnival has ended on Monday evening, 1Xtra will continue the party with two exclusive mix shows – a Funky House mix show featuring Footloose with special guest, legendary House DJ Supa D, followed by a Bassline House mix show with DJ Q alongside Bassline super-producer T2.

The day's broadcast will culminate with the 1Xtra Carnival After Party in London, featuring extra-special guests Ray J, Jazmine Sullivan performing her current Missy Elliott-produced underground favourite I Need You Bad, Donae'O singing his funky-house smash Devil In A Blue Dress and dancehall maestro Busy Signal.

1Xtra listeners will be given the opportunity to attend the exclusive 1Xtra After Carnival Party by registering online on the 1Xtra website until 18 August.
