Louisa Lytton and Vincent Simone in Strictly Come Dancing

Louisa Lytton and Vincent Simone flying UK flag for Eurovision Dance Contest

Strictly Come Dancing favourites join forces to take on Europe

Μύ

Reuniting for the first time since they wowed the crowds with their Strictly Come Dancing routines, former EastEnders actress Louisa Lytton and her professional partner Vincent Simone will go back to the ballroom one more time as they represent the UK in this year's Eurovision Dance Contest airing on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One on Saturday 6 September.

Μύ

Invited to represent the nation at the second annual showcase of the continent's most complex choreography and riveting routines, Louisa and Vincent will waltz it out in the city of Glasgow in an effort to be crowned champions of European dance.

Μύ

The youngest ever Strictly Come Dancing contestant, and currently starring in The Bill, Louisa competed in series four alongside other famous faces including Mark Ramprakash, Matt Dawson and Emma Bunton.

Μύ

This time Louisa and Vincent are striving to reach the top spot as they bring together elements of Latin and Ballroom for a one-chance, freestyle performance to incorporate the nation's dancing flavour.

Μύ

Fronting the sequin-showered spectacular are Graham Norton and Claudia Winkleman, who return to present the second instalment of the electric European dance tournament.

Μύ

Strictly Come Dancing stalwarts Len Goodman and Craig Revel Horwood, who make up two of the fearsome foursome judging panel, will comment on the performances and artistic content.

Μύ

Hosting the event, the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) will welcome dancing couples from countries across Europe.

Μύ

Each nation's dance entrants are made up of one professional performer and one non-professional, usually a celebrity.

Μύ

The winning couple will have to overcome the unpredictable scoreboard which reflects the public phone vote from across the competing countries.

Μύ

There is added pressure, as well, with a panel of judges overseeing the proceedings. Their scores will contribute to a proportion of the final result.

Μύ

Will Finland retain their crown or is an upset on the cards in the eagerly anticipated dancefloor extravaganza?

Notes to Editors

Μύ

Louisa Lytton rose to fame in 2005 after landing the role of Ruby Allen in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One's EastEnders, which she went on to play for two years. She appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in late 2006 and recently toured around the country with the Strictly Come Dancing tour. Currently Louisa stars as PC Beth Green in The Bill.

Μύ

Vincent Simone is best known for his steps on Strictly Come Dancing. He first appeared on the fourth series, pairing up with Louisa Lytton to reach the quarter-final. Vincent returned for the fifth series where he and partner Stephanie Beacham were eliminated in the second week. Originally from Italy, Vincent is a professional dancer and teaches with his dance partner Flavia Cacace, another favourite on Strictly Come Dancing.

Μύ

Eurovision Dance Contest is a co-production between Splash Media and Sunset + Vine with assistance from the International DanceSport Federation and in association with the European Broadcasting Union.
