Nick Knowles on a mission to bring animals back to Britain's
urban landscapes

Nick Knowles is set to go Wild About Your Garden in an exciting
new series for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One.

Nick will attempt to give urban spaces
across Britain a reverse makeover with help from The One Show's
wildlife reporter Ellie Harrison and award-winning garden
designer Chris Beardshaw.
Μύ
Every week the team visits a different town or city in Britain
where in just four days they have to transform back gardens from
animal no-go areas into havens for wildlife and humans alike.

The
team will rip up concrete paths and patios, replace patchy lawns
with luscious planting and completely redesign gardens to bring
the nation endangered animals back into our cities.

Each show will also give practical tips for viewers on how to
make their garden more wildlife friendly.

Nick Knowles says: "This is a great show for both gardeners and
non-gardeners. It will give us a chance to rescue wildlife even
in urban centres before it's too late.

Places campaign, just maybe they can inspire all of us to green

The programme is being made by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Vision Productions and was
commissioned by Emma Swain, Head of In-House Knowledge Commissioning, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Breathing Places is a five-year Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Learning campaign to
inspire people to connect with nature. Developed in partnership
with a huge range of wildlife and conservation organisations, the
campaign encourages new audiences to get involved in doing one
thing for nature, while providing opportunities for Breathing
Places to be created across the UK.

A Breathing Place is a green space that's great for wildlife and
people. It could be a local woodland, roadside, park, local
nature reserve or wildlife area, pond, green corridor or wildlife
meadow. It has an active community of people creating, enjoying
and maintaining it.

As well as environmental organisations, Breathing Places also
works in partnership with other volunteer associations, city
councils and education groups.
