Hole In The Wall

Hole In The Wall commissioned for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔΜύOne

Hole In The Wall, a new hilarious and action-packed Saturday night entertainment show, has been commissioned by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One from talkbackTHAMES.

Μύ

This knockabout game show, which will appeal to the whole family, will be hosted by Dale Winton when it airs on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔΜύOne later this year.

Μύ

Joining Dale on the show are team captains, Strictly Come Dancing favourite Anton Du Beke and cricket legend Darren Gough, who each week will bravely don a silver lycra suit and head up a team of three well-known names in a competition to see who can get through the "hole in the wall".

Μύ

The show, which originated in Japan, has fast become a worldwide hit, as celebrities try to force themselves through the various holes in the wall or risk ending up head first in the water.

Μύ

But for the celebrities taking part, it's not the fear of the water and the chance of ruining their hair and make-up that scares them most, it's having to do it while wearing a very tight shiny lycra all-in-one number!

Μύ

Each week it will be up to the team captains, Anton and Darren, to guide their teams through holes of differing shapes and sizes, always ensuring they "keep their eyes on the wall".

Μύ

Throughout the show the wall shapes will get harder and come faster; the competition between the team captains will get stronger; and the stakes will get higher - as only the winning team can walk away with Β£10,000 prize money for the charity of their choice.

Μύ

More than 10 million hits on YouTube have ensured that Hole In The Wall, or Human Tetris as it is known online, has already established itself as a global phenomenon.

Μύ

Dale Winton says: "A swimming pool, a hole in the wall, celebrities in lycra, what could be more me than this! I have been watching the foreign versions of this show on YouTube for the last year, it's brilliant.

Μύ

"I am thrilled to be hosting the British version on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One later this year. I am already addicted to it, I hope that the audience will be too."

Μύ

Mark Linsey, Commissioning Executive for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One, says: "This format is enjoyed by viewers all over Europe and we believe it will be a great addition to the wide range of entertainment programmes already on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One."

Μύ

Claire Horton, Deputy Head of Entertainment at talkbackTHAMES, says: "This is a feelgood addictive show which is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face."

Μύ

The show has been developed by Sarah Edwards and the Entertainment Development team at talkbackTHAMES from a Japanese format bought by talkbackTHAMES's parent company FremantleMedia.

Μύ

Hole In The Wall is a 10 x 30-minute talkbackTHAMES production for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One. Executive Producers are Claire Horton for talkbackTHAMES and Mark Linsey for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One. The series is produced by Sue Allison. It was commissioned by Elaine Bedell, Controller, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Entertainment Commissioning.
