Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales signs new Executive Editor, Factual and Music

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales has signed up Channel 4's commissioning editor for documentaries, Meredith Chambers, to be its Executive Editor, Factual and Music.

Chambers has overseen hard-hitting series such as The Secret Millionaire and Cutting Edge in his four years at Channel 4.

He also has a string of popular hits to his credit as one of the key producers with shows such as Pop Idol and I'm A Celebrity. .

He joins Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales Factual and Music to further develop network commissions in both specialities, which were merged into one creative department at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales's Cardiff headquarters earlier this year.

Chambers joins a department which has become a standard-bearer for popular, award-winning documentaries including the ground-breaking and much-emulated Tribe, and behind-the-scenes series such as A Year At Kew and Paparazzi, following the work of Kew Gardens and the work of celebrity photographers respectively.

Forthcoming documentary series mix Stephen Fry and wildlife in Last Chance To See, showcase Tolstoy's great-niece Alexandra in The Power Of The Horse, and look at how humans have evolved across the globe in The Human Planet.

Chambers will also work across the music portfolio, which includes long-running favourites Young Musician Of The Year and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Cardiff Singer Of The World – and the acclaimed Legends series.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales has also recruited award-winning programme-maker Judith Winnan as its new factual TV commissioning executive.

Judith makes her return to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales, which she first joined as a researcher in the factual department, from Cardiff-based independent producers Fulmar West, where she is Managing Director.

As a key member of the English language TV and multi-platform commissioning team, Judith's new role will be to commission all factual programmes for transmission on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Wales and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two Wales, dealing with both in-house and independent suppliers.
