Songs Of Praise School Choir Of The Year 2008 winners revealed

The winners of Songs Of Praise School Choir Of The Year 2008 were revealed yesterday (Sunday 16 March) on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One in a gala concert hosted by Aled Jones and recorded at the Manchester Monastery at the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

Chair of Judges Howard Goodall revealed Lindley Junior School as the new Junior School Choir of the Year. Goodall also announced Coventry Blue Coat School as the new Senior School Choir of the Year.

Lindley Junior School, in Huddersfield, secured the coveted title singing Dear Lord And Father and Rhythm Of Life.

Coventry Blue Coat School secured their success singing How Great Thou Art and Bright Morning Stars Are Rising.

Each winning choir will receive an award of Β£1,000 to buy musical equipment for their school and the title of Songs of Praise Junior or Senior School Choir of the Year 2008. They will also be invited to feature in future editions of Songs Of Praise.
