Letitia Dean dances out of Strictly Come Dancing

Letita Dean was the tenth person to be voted off the Strictly Come Dancing quarter-finals tonight (Sunsday 9 December) on Â鶹ԼÅÄ One – after failing to impress the judges in the dance-off.

Ìý

All the couples danced two different numbers again tonight, one Ballroom and one Latin dance, but once again one of those couples had to leave.

Ìý

But it was Letitia and singer Alesha Dixon who found themselves in the bottom two competing in the dance-off.

Ìý

Letitia performed the Waltz and Alesha performed the Viennese Waltz – their highest scoring dances with the judges.

Ìý

Of Letita's first performances, the judges said:

Ìý

Waltz

Ìý

Bruno Tonioli: "Letitia you are definitely feeling better today aren't you, because you looked like Lana Turner there. A real star turn. It was a beautiful waltz, well executed." Score: 9.

Ìý

Arlene Phillips: "Since you started in this competition it's been my dream to see you dance like a star and full of confidence. You look beautiful and you danced like a star." Score: 9.

Ìý

Len Goodman: "Your arms at the start were beautiful. I always look at your foot work and there were very few foot faults." Score: 9.

Ìý

Craig Revel Horwood: "I have to agree with the rest of the panel. However I did have a problem with your entry step and when you do your turns – it's only a problem with spotting and you need to change your focus." Score: 8.

Ìý

Total: 35/40.

Ìý

Jive

Ìý

Bruno: "It's difficult. It's a difficult dance. It's very fast and it has a lot of precision. Instead of a dead ringer it was a lookie-likey. You did everything you had to do but it wasn't quite as sharp as it could have been." Score: 8.

Ìý

Arlene: "The Jive should be warm and bubbly like a jacuzzi, and from the waist up it was but when you looked below it was a junk." Score: 7.

Ìý

Len: "You did a good job but the Jive is your dance that doesn't suit you." Score: 9.

Ìý

Craig: "I think it just overwhelmed you. I have to agree with Len, but you did a pretty good effort." Score: 7.

Ìý

Total: 30/40.

Ìý

They scored a total of 65/80.

Ìý

The judges' leader board was as follows:

Ìý

1 – Gethin and Camilla
American Smooth: 38
Jive: 37
Total: 75

Ìý

2 – Alesha and Matt
V Waltz: 38
Paso Doble: 36
Total: 74

Ìý

3 – Letitia and Darren
Waltz: 35
Jive: 30
Total: 65

Ìý

4 – Matt and Flavia
Foxtrot: 26
Samba: 29
Total: 55

Ìý

But the judges came to a unanimous decision on the dance off:

Ìý

Craig: "This couple is near perfect and that is Alesha and Matthew."

Ìý

Arlene: "This person danced beautifully in week one and beautifully tonight and I never want to stop watching her dance. Alesha and Matthew."

Ìý

Bruno: "It's incredibly hard, you both did great dances. One couple has that extra stardust and magic and that's Alesha and Matt."

Ìý

With three out of four votes Alesha and Matthew went through but Len said:

Ìý

Len: "I did agree."

Ìý

Letita said: "It's been the most amazing adventure ... thanks to all of Darren's patience and hard work it's been a wonderful experience and I can't thank him enough."

Ìý

The remaining three celebrities are now one step closer to being crowned Strictly Come Dancing champions.

Ìý

The competition continues next week with the semi-final of Strictly Come Dancing.
