Radio Bristol sets new high after gaining 11,000 listeners in year

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Bristol has gained 11,000 extra listeners over the last year and now has an average weekly audience of 248,000 – the highest for the station in the last two years – according to figures released today.

Μύ

The figures are from Rajar (Radio Joint Audience Research Ltd), an independent survey system which tracks radio listening for both Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and commercial stations. The period measured was from 26 March to 24 June 2007.

Μύ

Rajar's figures also reveal that almost one in five (19.2%) of the adult population within the Radio Bristol transmission area listen to the station each week, for an average of 14 hours per week.

Μύ

Tim Pemberton, Managing Editor of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Bristol, says: "I'm really pleased that the station changes are beginning to have a positive impact. Not only are we attracting thousands of new listeners, they are staying with us for longer.

Μύ

It's a credit to the hard work of all the team here that our audience figures are up."
